Only 1 week in Istanbul? Here are some ways to spend it without being overwhelmed.
Leave on Friday or Saturday and fly direct to Istanbul Airport. Stay in the Sultan Ahmet area for 2 or 3 days.
Day 1
European side
Taksim and Sultan Ahmet — explore the history of Istanbul.
Day 2
European side
Visit the Bazaar, walk along the Bosphorus, shop in Nişantaşı.
Day 3
European side
Indulge in a Turkish hammam, then plan to take a ferry, taxi, or tram to where you will be staying for the wedding on the Asian side.
Day 4
Asian side
Explore Moda and Kadıköy (shopping!), and join us for our welcome brunch to meet other guests.
Day 5
Asian side
Free day! A run along the Bosphorus? Rest before the wedding?
Day 6
Wedding day
Be sure to be fully rested. Indulge in a Turkish breakfast at your hotel, and be ready to leave by 4:30 PM.
